David and Shannon

David and Shannon are the owners of Cold Iron Barbell. They opened Cold Iron Barbell for one reason, to change the lives of everyone who walks through their door.

David started his training career in the mid 90’s in Las Vegas. He spent most of his early years training athletes and doing personal training for adults. After moving back to the central coast he operated his own gym as well as worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base training the men and women of our armed forces. As well as being a strength and conditioning coach David is also a highly ranked power lifter, winning the United States Power Lifting Association World Championship in 2011 in his weight class, and just missing out on that honer in 2012. He believes hard work, dedication and a never give up attitude will lead you to your ultimate goals.

Shannon has been training in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Santa Ynez Valley for 15 years. She has a degree from San Francisco State University in Physical Education with a concentration in rehabilitation, and has worked in sports medicine facilities and fitness clubs with a variety of cliental ranging from youth, adults, and professional athletes. In addition to being a certified personal trainer, she is also certified in group conditioning, yoga, spinning, and TRX Suspension System Training. Shannon is a Positive Alliance Strength and Conditioning Coach with The Amateur Athletics Union (AAU) and has founded the Santa Ynez Powerlifting Club. She enjoys working with athletes of all ages to achieve success within their chosen sports, as well as individuals of all abilities to reach their health, nutrition, and fitness goals.
